It is a few years now since we first started collecting food for the Foodbank in Falkirk. Recently, the donations have been gradually decreasing and we now have very little to offer. It can be difficult to remember these things every week so the St. Vincent de Paul are relaunching this charity.  Information leaflets and a reminder notice to put in your kitchen, will be distributed after Mass today as well as a plastic carrier for the food items. Next Sunday we will be helped by some of the Children’s Liturgy to gather your donations as you enter the church.  We are all aware of the poverty that exists in our own communities so let’s do what we can, especially at Christmas and throughout the New Year. The food is taken to the Foodbank on a weekly basis.
We are keen to create a YOUTH GROUP. This would be an opportunity for our High School parishioners to meet on a regular basis. This Group is for YOU and we want to know your ideas as to how this would work best.If you have any ideas/ suggestions then please speak to one of the Children’s Liturgy leaders, Fr John or add them to the sheet on the notice board.
The aim is to have the first meeting before the end of the year

The Children’s Nativity Play will take place during Mass on Sunday 18th December. Final rehearsal will be at 9.30am on Sunday 11th December.  All children of primary school are welcome to attend.
Pope Francis
wrote in Misericordia et Misera, his apostolic letter for the Year of Mercy, that there is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach.  and so he has formally given all priests the permanent permission to to grant absolution to penitents who confess to having procured an abortion for themselves or assisted another to do so. Anyone in such a situation should quickly seek to avail themselves of this opportunity of mercy and grace to find forgiveness from God and His peace for the future.
